HMD Global was expected to launch the Nokia X5 on July 11 in China, but the launch event got cancelled due to some issues with the venue. The company has now announced a new launch date for the Nokia X5. Now, the smartphone manufacturer itself has confirmed the launch date of the Nokia X5 to be July 18, i.e tomorrow. The Nokia X5 is expected to be priced around Rs 10,000.If the Nokia X5 is priced under Rs 10,000 in India, meaning there’s a tough time coming for Xiaomi Redmi phones. Giving the expected price of the Nokia X5, the phone could take on the likes of phones like Redmi Note 5, Honor 7A, Honor 7C and some Motorola phones.Currently, the Nokia X5 will be launching only in China. And as of yet, there are no reports on when the phone will come to India. Some reports, however, suggest that the Nokia X5 will launch as Nokia 5,1 Plus outside China. The launch of the Nokia X5 has been announced by Nokia Mobiles on the Chinese microblogging site, Weibo. Apart from the launch date, the company hasn’t revealed any further details about the Nokia X5.The Nokia X5 has been subjected to several leaks and rumours in the last couple of weeks. The smartphone, a few days ago, was spotted on a benchmarking site, TENNA. The TENNA listing revealed a lot of hardware specs of the Nokia X5.Going by the rumours making rounds on the internet and the TENNA listing, the Nokia X5 will come with a tall screen. The phone will sport a 5.85-inch HD+ display with an aspect ratio of 19:9 and a resolution of 720×1520 pixels. Reports suggest that the Nokia X5 will come with a notched display. Having said that, the new Nokia X5 will be the second phone from HMD Global to come with an iPhone X like notch.advertisementThe smartphone is expected to come in two variants. Among the two Nokia X5 models, one will come with a cheaper price tag, while the other one will be slightly expensive. The base model is said to be powered by an Helio P23 processor, while the top-end Nokia X5 model will come with an Helio P60 processor.The Nokia X5 will come in three RAM variants — 3GB, 4GB, and 6GB RAM, and two storage models — 32GB storage and 64GB of storage. The Nokia X5 will run on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box and be backed by a 3000mAh battery.Alongside the specs, the price of the Nokia X5 has also been leaked. According to a new report, the Nokia X5 will launch with a starting price tag of CNY 1,000, which roughly translates to Rs 10,000. An earlier report had suggested that the phone could be priced under Rs 10,000.
