STATE COLLEGE, PA – NOVEMBER 21: A general view of the stadium prior to the game between the Michigan Wolverines and Penn State Nittany Lions at Beaver Stadium on November 21, 2015 in State College, Pennsylvania. (Photo by Evan Habeeb/Getty Images)Penn State became the latest in a relatively long line of top programs to offer scholarship to a former NFL star’s son. Former Green Bay wide receiver Donald Driver’s son, Christian, is a freshman safety at Liberty Christian in Texas.Although just a freshman, Driver already has offers from Michigan, Nevada, Southern Miss, Texas State and Virginia Tech. He can now add the Nittany Lions to the list.Clearly he’s already made an impact on several of the top head coaches in college football with offers from Jim Harbaugh and now James Franklin.I am extremely grateful and blessed to receive an offer from The University of Penn State!! Thanks to my family, coaches and teammates. @car20ruiz @RossRoby1 @Donald_Driver80 @CoachTerryPSU pic.twitter.com/qXkWhuU9EV— C҉ristian (@CristianDriver_) November 15, 2018Donald Driver was a three-time Pro Bowl wide receiver with the Green Bay Packers. Driver finished his 14-year NFL career with 743 receptions for 10,137 yards and 61 touchdowns – most from Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers.Driver has a few years before he needs to make his college decision. It will be interesting to see what other programs make a play for the talented safety recruit.
